SSC CHSL 2017 Exam Date & Application Form (LDC & DEO 10+2 Level)


SSC CHSL 2017 examination date has announced and SSC CHSL 2017 (Tier 1) session exams will be from 7th January. SSC CHSL 2017 Combined Higher Secondary Exams are going to be held from 7th of January 2017 to 20th January 2017 (Tier 1) & 15th April 2018 (Tier 2) for the recruitment of aspirants for the post of Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants, Lower Divisional Clerks and Data Entry Operators (LDC & DEO). Interested and eligible aspirants can obtain its application form from 5th August, 2017.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CHSL 2017

Here you will find all the required eligibility criteria for appearing in SSC CHSL exam:
You need to fulfill one of the following nationality criteria in order to apply for this exam:
  • A resident of India;
  • A Subject of Nepal/Bhutan;
  • Tibetan refugee those came to the country before 1st January, 1962 with the aim of permanent settling over here.
  • A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who are migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam and came to India with the aim of permanent settling over here.
Age Limit
Candidates’ age should be in between 18 to 27 years as on 1st August 2017. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates according to the norm of Govt. of India. Check UPI payment app BHIM app here.

Educational Qualification
Candidates those have cleared class 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized university are only eligible to apply for the test.

FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)

Ques: What is the minimum eligibility for appearing in SSC CHSL Exam?

  • Candidates should have qualified in SSC CHSL exam.
  • The minimum and maximum age of candidates should be 18 years and 27 years respectively.

Ques: I appeared in class 12th exam but the result is yet to be released, can I appear in SSC CHSL exam?

Ans: Candidates are permitted to apply but in that case they will have to submit the passing proof before the deadline of application.

Ques: What is the age relaxation criterion for SC/ST category candidates?

Ans: SC/ST category candidates will be given relaxation of 5 years in age.

Ques: Can you tell me the application fee?

Ans: The application fee is Rs.100/- only which can be paid either using challan or net banking/debit card/credit card. Women and reserved category candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

How to Apply for SSC CHSL?

  • One can submit application form in online mode from the official website of Staff Selection Committee i.e. and
  • Complete the registration process first by providing few basic information.
  • After completion of the successful registration, a unique registration number will be generated. We advise you to please note down your registration number.
  • Now move to the application fee payment procedure. The fee can be paid either by using SBI Challan or credit card/debit card/net banking.
  • After making the payment, you’ll be asked to upload your photograph and signature in JPG format. Size of the photograph and signature should be in between 4 kb to 12 kb.
  • After submission of the application form, you won’t be allowed for making any sort of changes.

Exam Pattern for SSC CHSL 2017

  • There will be two parts in the exam i.e. Written Examination and Skill Test.
  • All questions involved in the written exam will be objective type multiple choice questions only.
  • Language mode of the written test: English and Hindi
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks would be deducted for each wrong answer.

Tips to Prepare for SSC CHSL 2017

Getting qualified in SSC CHSL exam is really a proud achievement for any student. While preparation of the exam, candidates should concentrate on all participating subjects. In exam, questions will be from General Intelligence, English language, Quantitative English and General Awareness.
  • For General Intelligence section, candidates should do more practice on multiple choice questions belonging to analogies, drawing conclusions, syllogism, detecting patterns and missing numbers.
  • While doing preparation of English language, you need to give more attention on synonyms, antonyms, fill in the blanks, active / passive voice, sentence error improvement, jumbled sentences, spellings.
